Different cultures

When I’m not translating, you’ll often find me driving around the greater Utrecht area to interpret for private individuals. It’s a balance I greatly enjoy — I like being around other people, and translation is very much a solitary profession. Interpreting allows me to mingle with people from different cultures and to temporarily share their celebrations, their sadness and excitement.

As a freelance teacher, I gained valuable experience working with major institutions like Dutch municipalities, insurance companies, and other prominent corporations. I’ve also taught Advanced English and Business English at the Volksuniversiteit Gouda for several years. I regularly return to my alma mater, Utrecht University, to teach guest lectures about legal translation and starting your own business.
